The ISN's strategic focus may be on its research portfolio and its customers, but members of the MIT research community — undergraduate and graduate students, postdoctoral associates, fellows, members of the faculty, and staff — are welcome to make use of our facilities and instrumentation.

Access Application Process

Prospective users of ISN facilities and equipment must fulfill all MIT Environmental Health and Safety requirements and also follow the necessary ISN-specific access procedures.

ISN Equipment

Over the past 20+ years, the ISN has established in Technology Square a facility containing cutting-edge research instrumentation. Many of these instruments are available not only to those participating in ISN-funded projects, but also to members of the broader MIT research community.
