MIT Waves, Bits, and Molecules (WBM)

ISN is the home of MIT Waves, Bits, and Molecules (WBM), an interdisciplinary research initiative bringing together researchers from across MIT to explore new opportunities at the convergence of waves, information, materials, and devices. ISN hosts WBM and supports its activities and collaborations across the Institute.

MIT Lincoln Laboratory

ISN maintains a longstanding research relationship with MIT Lincoln Laboratory, MIT’s Department of War federally funded research and development center. Collaborations connect ISN’s fundamental and applied research on the MIT campus with Lincoln Laboratory’s expertise in advanced technology development, prototyping, testing, and national security applications.

Advanced Functional Fabrics of America (AFFOA)

ISN has a longstanding relationship with AFFOA, a Manufacturing USA Innovation Institute with deep connections to MIT research in advanced fibers and fabrics. ISN research has helped advance multifunctional fiber technologies, while AFFOA provides capabilities and a national ecosystem for developing, scaling, manufacturing, and transitioning advanced fiber and textile technologies.
