John McConville serves as the Technology Transfer Officer within the Physical Sciences Directorate at the U.S. Army Research Office assigned to the Army’s Institute for Soldier Nanotechnologies (ISN) at MIT. Working in a university setting, John’s role is to help drive, integrate and operationalize emerging research discoveries and technology innovations towards future Army’s modernization capability priorities. Through a unique disruptive collaborative research transition approach, John synchronizes new science and technology concepts, designs, requirements and developments to enable expedited Army relevant technology solutions.

Prior to this assignment as a Navy Civilian, John served as an Engineering Program Manager for the Joint Command Naval Flag Ships and as a Nuclear Engineer for multiple Navy Submarines.  John has also served as a LCDR in the U.S. Naval Reserve as an Engineering Officer for multiple Surface Ships.

John has a BS in Marine Engineering from the Massachusetts Maritime Academy and an MBA from Boston College where he focused on Strategic Management of Technologies. John has completed the Naval Civilian Nuclear Engineering Training program and has completed relevant DoD Program Management courses.
